Loris Capirossi has completed a dream debut test for the new Ducati Desmosedici GP5 by keeping his new machine on top of the timesheets with a record breaking lap on the third and final day of testing at Sepang – that beat the circuit's official pole record by 1.3secs. Crash.net

Ducati shipped over four new 999 AMA spec Superbikes for the team, and a large crew of Italian engineers to massage them, including Corse Superbike Technical Director Ernesto Marinelli for this test.
